Hi,
I am currently working on a project that condenses steam in a closed vessel using Star CCM+ 9.04.001-R8 and having problems with phase change.

The physical models chosen are implicit unsteady, Eulerian Multiphase VOF, turbulent, Multiphase Interaction, gravity, segregated fluid temperature, and Evaporation/Condensation options selected.
The continuum is fluid with two Eulerian phases; steam and water. The material properties have been modified to match pressure and temperature conditions.

The problem is set up to have the vessel initially filled by steam at 400 K with pressure at 14.7 psi and surrounded by walls at 300 K.
The issue is that even though the temperature of the fluid is shifting from 400 K to 300 K as each time step is satisfied, phase change does not occur. If the pressure is 14.7 psi, the saturation pressure should be 373 K and phase should be occurring at this point.

Is there any suggestions to have phase change occur??

Do you have found any solution for that?

Hello

Can you please tell me how you used single components and not multi-components in order to use the evaporation model?!

I can only use it with multi components. If I do not specify a mixture in the gas star will not run.
