Question Particle tracks disappear

Hey,


me and some friends are currently writing our bachelor. Here we are simulating a cyclone seperator with dust and air in STAR CCM+. We are using euler-lagrangian and RSM. We get the results we want with the pressure drop. But when im trying to see the particle tracks of the lagrangian phase, they stop before they have reached the outlet. If i change the lagrangian phase to gas and 1.205kg/m3 instead of solid with 3320kg/m3 i get the particle tracks to work. The particles have a diameter of 5*10^-6m and the inlet speed is 20m/s. Im trying to figure out why they are not getting tracked. Look at the image. Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for the reply cwl. I tried it, but it did not work. But after alot of fail simulations i figured it out. I had to change the wall to rebound, that did the trick. Now the simulation is complete and the results are quite good.

Oh, that's great. Although - that's strange, because the default wall-particle setting is rebound.

Yeah we thought it was strange as well, we did also think it was default. Glad the problem is fixed tho, dont know if it has much to say but we are simulating in unsteady..

Currently im trying to figure out the boundary sampling, the tutorial in star ccm+ is not to good. i manage to get a sum report of the time at the different outlets with "solid @ seperator: outlet" but the particle count has no data. Got any tricks for this?
