Dear all,
I am doing an FE analysis for a bone using ansys. When importing the stl file to FE modeller and creating an initial geometry it gives out a an error saying the new surface is a problematic surface. How can I sort this out? Thank you in advance |

Hi Thiran,
You can change the settings before "initialising" the geometry. in "skin detection tool" change the "forbid close components" from "NO" to "YES". this will split the geometry by the mentioned angle just below "forbid..." tab (keep it 90, lets say) and you wont see any problematic faces. Hope it would be helpful Cheers, Jiten |

Hi,
I am having probably a similar problem (I guess). I have imported a 2D-mesh from Abaqus to Ansys FE modeler (The model is made in Solidworks). I initialized the geometry and now it is only showing 2 edges instead of 8 edges (originally). Any suggestions on this problem. Thanks, Keyu |
