Hey there,

Im performing CFD on a deformed geometry, and Im trying to establish a robust workflow. Currently Im in Workbench, and my workflow is this:

1. Static structural: calculation and export .cbd of deformed geometry
2. FE Modeller: create and export parasolid
3. Solidworks: parasolid to dumb solid, create flow domain
4. Design Modeller: share topology/imprint faces etc
5. Mesher: meshing
6. Fluent: run calculation

Currently steps 2 and 3 are problematic. In FE modeller, creating a clean parasolid can be a challenge, and in Solidworks, often the geometry operations fail.

So. I was wondering what everyone else does. Whats your role, what programs do you use, and what is your workflow? What is the easiest, most robust way you have encountered to perform the above steps?

Basically, Im trying to workout whether people in industry have a good way of doing this with no specific software, or use things like geomagic wrap (for example).

Cheers,

David
