We are looking for a MaSc/PhD student to perform Large Eddy Simulations of 
boundary layers where the turbulence is triggered by a DBD plasma actuator.

You'll be given the task of performing the first Large Eddy Simulation of the 
coupling between a DBD and a supersonic boundary layer where the plasma sheaths 
and the turbulent flow are integrated in fully-coupled form. The CFD code you 
will use is a in-house-developed code called CFDWARP which can be found (except 
for a few proprietary modules) on github.


- Simulate and analyze turbulent flows with CFDWARP
- Improve the design of the plasma actuators in generating turbulence
- Make changes to CFDWARP (eg. implement new post-processing subroutines, 
convergence acceleration algorithms, flux discretization schemes).

Skills needed

- C and bash programming (experience with MPI and OPENMP desired)
- Numerical analysis
- Experience simulating turbulent flows

Degrees required

- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering (or equivalent)

Financial support

- Supporting agency: National Research Foundation of Korea
- Stipend: up to 1.5 million won per month
- Tuition fees for foreign students: 4 million won per year
