We are looking for a motivated, independent and capable of self-learning student
in the area of computational simulation of hypersonic flows and plasma. An ideal
candidate would have a strong background in gasdynamics, molecular dynamics,
plasma physics and physical chemistry. Coding skills (C and Fortran) are a plus.

Department of Aerospace Engineering in Texas A&M University is top ranked among
others ABET accredited schools in a similar discipline in the USA. It is known
for its extensive experimental base as well as for the state-of-the-art
computing facilities. Currently, we are undergoing a large expansion, so-called
25-by-25 which means a 25,000 increase in the student body by the year 2025.

A successful candidate would gain an experience in experimental and
computational aerothermodynamics. Specifically, the excellence in nonintrusive
laser measurement techniques in the national wind tunnels and high performance
computing by means of molecular dynamics is expected upon completion of the
Ph.D. degree. If interested please submit an email with the title "molecular

- Simulation of hypersonic cruising vehicle
- Scramjet combustion simulation
- Plasma-assisted combustion and flow control
- Thermal ablation of spacecraft
- Rarefied gasdynamics and debris re-entry
- Experimental assessment of hypersonic flows
