1-2 master or Ph.D. positions are available at School of Mechanical Engineering
at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. This position is in the area of two-phase
flow/thermal hydraulics with focus on bubble dynamic and mass transfer.

Brief Description of project:
* Aiming to solve the issues underlying the gas removal technology, focused on
the bubbling degassing concept. This project will utilize the experimental
method, numerical simulation and theoretical modeling to understand the physical
mechanism counting for the bubble shedding, breakup and coalescence, and the
mass transfer in two-phase flow. As well as to discover the evolution of the
three-dimensional shape and the separation mechanism for the micro-bubbles.
* With our continued expansion, research will span from frontline topics in
basic science to more applied area such as nuclear reactor, aerodynamics, ship
hydrodynamics and other general purpose fluid/thermal applications.

* Knowledge in multiphase flow, especially in gas-liquid two-phase flow
* Knowledge in Computational Fluid Dynamics and tools (e.g. CFD, OpenFoam,
* Knowledge in programming (e.g. C++, MATLAB)
* Good communication skills and teamwork

Considerable knowledge:
* Code development for two-phase flow applications, turbulence modeling, thermal
hydraulics, heat transfer and parallel scientific computing
* Nuclear, mechanical, chemical or industrial engineering with a specialization
in heat and mass transfer, fluid dynamics or reactor thermal hydraulics
