The research focuses on the modeling and simulation of nanoparticle synthesis in spray flames. The
interaction of turbulence, mixing and chemical reactions in two-phase flows is studied with numerical
methods. In particular, detailed chemical reactions are to be considered.
The successful candidate holds a Master degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Physics or
Chemistry. Excellent knowledge of programming languages such as Fortran or C or C++ are required.
Experience in large computer codes, turbulence modeling and complex software such as OpenFOAM are very
useful. Numerical methods are required.
The project in part of a research collaboration center and interactions with different research groups all over
the country are involved. Excellent knowledge of the English language is a must and basic German language
abilities are to be gained in the first months.
The project is ongoing and the successful candidate should take up the position asap.
