Description:

Boiling heat transfer is a favored mode of convective energy transport in numerous industrial applications due to the high heat fluxes available with relatively low wall temperatures. The topic of boiling has attracted the attention of many brilliant researchers over the past seventy years who have contributed to the understanding we have today. In order to extrapolate the boiling knowledge and experience gained in the past seventy years to challenging length scales, geometries, and operating regimes, it is necessary to improve the mechanistic understanding of the boiling process and translate this understanding into reliable and practical heat transfer models.

It is in this spirit that we propose to convene the 5th International Conference on Boiling Heat Transfer in May 2003. The conference will examine the state-of-the-art in the science and

Conference Objectives:

  • Provide a forum for leading researchers and practitioners to engage in collaborative and contemplative debate on contemporary issues governing the state-of-the-art in boiling heat transfer.
