In conjunction with NADCA’s 2017 Die Casting Congress & Tabletop, Flow Science is offering a ½ day hands-on metal casting simulation workshop on September 18. The workshop registration includes a free 30-day trial of FLOW-3D Cast. Attendance is limited to 20 attendees to ensure individual attention for all attendees.
This hands-on workshop will guide attendees through setting up and analyzing a High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) simulation using FLOW-3D Cast. Special emphasis will be on filling and solidification sub-processes while some aspects of thermal die cycling and cooling simulations will also be covered. In addition, attendees will learn about shot sleeve modeling, cooling channel functionalities, spray cooling models, defect tracking, porosity formation and thermal distortions. Guest speakers, Joshua Huang, Senior R&D Engineer, Head of CAE and Simulations at Exco Engineering and Rabi Bhola, Consulting Engineer at Bholster Technologies will share their experiences successfully applying FLOW-3D Cast to real-world process and design issues.
