13th SPHERIC International Workshop , Jun 2018, Ireland

Posted By: Nathan Quinlan
Date:Sat, 9 Dec 2017, 11:24 a.m.

Galway, Ireland, 26-28 June 2018

The SPHERIC International Workshop is the annual global forum for development and applications of Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) and related meshless particle methods. Join us on Ireland's Atlantic Coast to share the latest advances in SPH. In addition, the optional training day on 25 June offers an intensive introduction to the theory and application of SPH.

The SPHERIC Workshop series is highly focussed on Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) and related methods. SPH and other meshless particle approaches have unique strengths for modelling fluids and solids with dynamic free surfaces or interfaces.

The Workshop is open to all aspects of research and applications of SPH and related methods.

Research topics include development of numerical algorithms and analysis and evaluation of new or existing algorithms in SPH or related methods. High-performance computing, including GPUs, is also a major research theme. The community particularly welcomes work that addresses the SPHERIC Grand Challenges (GC). Research topics include, but are not limited to:

Application

Abstracts dealing with the application of SPH to challenging or new real-life problems are encouraged, and will be reviewed in a separate stream. SPHERIC Grand Challenge #5, Applicability to Industry, defines generic aspects of SPH which must be advanced to foster the method’s diffusion and adoption in industry. The following indicative list of application domains is by no means complete, and the Workshop would welcome presentations of the extension of SPH into new fields.
