CEIViz '08 Speaker List Announced

APEX, N.C., July 3, 2008 – CEI announces the training and technical program for CEIViz ‘08, the second international conference for high-performance visualization. CEIViz ‘08 will be held at the Radisson Lord Plaza in Baltimore, MD, September 23-25, 2008.

The second biennial conference will offer training and tutorials on CEI’s EnSight visualization software, technical papers on leading-edge applications, and forums for formal and casual networking. There will also be a large exhibition area featuring the newest technology from major vendors who serve the computer-aided engineering (CAE) markets of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA).

CEI’s vice president of sales and marketing, Darin McKinnis, had this to say about CEIViz ’08, “For this year’s conference we have a superb slate of speakers from several prestigious U.S. government research laboratories, major U.S. corporations, prominent academic institutions, and nimble technology firms. What impresses me the most is the vast array of applications of EnSight that will be presented. The highlight of the conference will be a preview of our most powerful, and easiest to use version of our extreme visualization product, EnSight 9.”

The first two days of the event will be dedicated to technical papers from leading experts in the field, the third day of the conference will showcase training and tutorials including a user track, a development track and a partner track. Presenters and conference topics scheduled to date include:

* Robert J. Kares of Los Alamos National Laboratory on EnSight and computing at the petascale * Kenneth Gwinn of Sandia National Laboratories on visualizing structural impact simulations * Dr. Ilana Iskovitz of The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company on CEI’s EnSight based visualization tool for novice and experienced users * Matthew Hyre of Virginia Military Institute on balloon/stent expansion dynamics and blood flow in stenotic arteries * Alan Huber of University of North Carolina on scientific visualizations for micro-scale modeling of winds and airborne pollution dispersion in urban areas: developments and applications for New York City * Ben Tutt of Airborne Systems (Irvin Aerospace) on recovery system analysis * CEI experts on EnSight 9, Python, chameleon, co-processing, presentation tools, and the future of visualization

CEIViz ‘08 is open to eligible professionals currently working in visualization or considering it. Exhibitors at the event include Hewlett Packard, Pointwise, SGI and Altair.
