Fluent Announces First International CFD Conference Dedicated to the Oil & Gas Industry

Posted By: Fluent Europe Ltd
Date:Fri, 7 Apr 2006, 2:55 p.m.

7th April 2006, Sheffield, UK

Fluent, the world leader in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software and services, today announced the details for its inaugural International Oil & Gas CFD Conference (IOCC) to be held in London, UK on 30 November – 1 December 2006.

The IOCC will be the world’s only event dedicated to the application of CFD in the oil and gas industry. It will provide a forum to showcase the rapidly growing capabilities of flow simulation technologies and the ever increasing list of design problems it is applied to. Oil & Gas is now one of the fastest growing markets for CFD, as its ability to reduce design and development times, troubleshoot existing design problems and provide greater understanding of fluid physics has been proven. This growth has occurred internationally, driven by clients including major oil, refining, service and contracting companies as well as smaller enterprises. This client base, with expertise in the use of CFD in the industry, will be represented at the IOCC, making the event an ideal opportunity to meet and network with thought leaders, company executives, user experts, engineers and business partners from market leading companies.

A number of high-profile keynote speakers will provide their observations on a variety of current issues facing the industry, along with an impressive series of presentations from world leading companies on a range of topics including drilling, separation, refining, dispersion, downhole equipment, ventilation, fire and safety, flow around risers, pipelines & structures, flare radiation, burners & furnaces, processing equipment, erosion/corrosion, valves & pumps, and LNG processing & transport.

In addition, technology focus sessions will all keep attendees abreast of leading edge application developments. Coupled with a Partner Pavilion and a social event in the evening of the first day, the IOCC promises to gather together the largest and most influential group of oil and gas CFD experts in 2006.
