I see a difference in the pattern of mesh generated using STL algorithm in ANSA v16 compared to earlier versions like ANSA v15.1.2.

Can anyone help me in getting the same type of STL mesh using Spacing option which was generated in ANSA v15.1.2 in 16.1.2 ?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi there,
The Shell Mesh>STL algorithm changed in ANSA v15.2.0

It may not create as regular mesh patterns as older ANSA versions
but it is in fact more accurate than the old algorithm, in the sense that
it truly respects the max distortion and feature angle limits set by the user.

To achieve this, it may create some local size reductions in the macro.

There is no real reason to prefer the old algorithm to my belief.

Hope this helps

Is there any way to get the same pattern as in 15.1.2, because that looked good for external aerodynamic meshing.

Thanks alot for replying.

Vignesh

No you cannot achieve the result of v15.1.x as the algorithm has changed.

When I mesh using the perimeter > spacing option and then shell mesh > STL, I'm not able to get smooth mesh pattern.

There are dents near the perimeter, please let me know what to do?

Thanks for your help in advance.
