Hello
I have started learning Fluent, but for the meshing, I don't know which software is better. GAMBIT or the ANSYS Meshing software? Which one do you recommend?

Gambit is no more in production line. While Ansys meshing is new technology and actively being developed.

i would go for design modeler and ICEM or ansys meshing.

On the other hand, Gambit is very much easy to learn and has awesome meshing technology.

There is course titled "Gambit to DM/AM transition" on customer portal. It will give you a fair idea about both codes.

Gambit is user friendly in 2D problems and when you need a structured mesh in 2D it is the best choice, but in 3D its difficult for beginners to make structured mesh in Gambit and ICEM is more useful and user friendly for 3D structured mesh.

Hi
I'm trying to export a meshed Thermal-Fluid model from Gambit to Ansys by ".igs" type.. But when I wanna Import it in Ansys, I cannot find that file!
My Gambit models are being saved in "C:/windows/system32/.igs " or "C:/windows/system32/.dbs " ... but when I try to find this route, there is no model there!
How Can I change the Directory that Gambit saves its file, to another Directory like Desktop??

If you are planning a career in CFD then you can/should start learning Ansys Meshing. Currently Ansys meshing is the default mesh generator for fluent.

Of course you can learn Gambit for recreational or self-teaching purpose. Keep in mind that Gambit is no more being developed by Ansys. Gambit is/was easy to learn but if you start learning Ansys Meshing early you will get used to it.

please explain your case study and your boundary condition and before them show your domain and report quality of mesh.
Good luck

Results look reasonable to me. Did you find any discrepancy in results?

You can download it from Ansys Portal but there is very limited support from Ansys.

I recommend that you switch to Ansys meshing.
