Hello everyone,

I am new in ICEM CFD, but I have a really important project what I have to complete. So if anybody could help me, I would really appreciate it.

I should do the same mesh to the a 2D airfoil like in this video at 1:56:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYrb...FuzAcZf3IITffg
I also attach a picture about this.
I should use Quarter O-grid, C-grid, and H-grid as well, but I don't know how to do the blocking. If anyone could explain me, I would be really grateful!
Thank you very much in advance!

Regards,
Bence

Hello Molnár,

Well as explained in the video it's a quarter O-grid with an inner C-grid. You need be familiar with the merge vertices / collapse blocs (same as the PipeBlade tutorial -> "Step 3: Splitting and Collapsing Blocks around the Blade").

Basically you need to do the following steps:
1) Create initial surrounding block (see Picture 1)
2) Merge the vertices tool(under Blocking>Merge Vertices) and associate to the FF points (see Picture 2)
3) Create a Y-block (under Blocking>Edit Block>Convert Block Type) and associate to FF point (see Picture 3)
4) Split the Y-block twice on both sides of the FF (see Picture 4)
5) Create a C-grid selecting the blocks surrounding your airfoil (see Picture 5)

6) Delete the 4 airfoil blocks or create a "solid" part with these blocks (see Picture 6)
7) Depending on the airfoil trailing edge type (sharp /truncated) collapse the two blocks for a sharp trailing edge.
8) Associate the vertices and edges, play with the position of the vertices and use the "edit edge" using a source and target edge for a better mesh quality (see Picture 7).

Hope this helped. Have fun

Dear Gwenael,

Thank you very much! It helped me a lot, now I am able to do it. Your answer will be a great help in the future who will search solution here for this problem.
Thanks again!
All the best,

Bence
