sorry for the newbie question. i am still new in this software. i want to make a grid independent study to validate the experiment data with simulation data.
my question is, it possible or not if i want to mesh my model with specific number of mesh (element), instead of using a coarse, medium and fine function?
for example, i want to mesh my model with 500,000 number of element of mesh.

btw, im using ansys workbench 15.0 (fluent)

Number of elements can be controlled more in hexa meshing. In unstructured meshing it can be done but will need a lot of mesh settings for parts, surfaces, curves etc.. Either way it is hard to achieve a specific number of elements but you can mesh it to almost the number of elements you require.

It depends on the geometry too. For simple geometries the no. of . elements can be controlled easily

i try google about that and to do hexa mesh, i need to do it in ICEM. if i done make it, can i import my mesh from ICEM to fluent?

yes you can use ICEM and import to fluent at the end of meshing

i try watching youtube for the tutorial but it is quite hard to do it. haha
is there other way to do other that ICEM? i dont mind if i get the number of element quite far from what i am specific, as long as i can control it.
better if i can do it in mesh fluent only.

Did you mean not use ICEM? Yes you can do meshing in other software as well. Google. And what is your geometry?
