Dear all,

I'm just wondering whether it is possible to build an overset grid with ICEM given that most of my research led to STAR-CCM+ which I have never used before.

In case ICEM does not allow this approach is it possible to export the background mesh I have already created in ICEM to STAR-CCM+?

Hi cinclus,

It is possible to export meshes generated in ICEM to Star-CCM+. However with overset meshing you will have to be very careful that the boundary between the background mesh and overset mesh contain cells of approximately the same size.

This could make generating efficient grids with inflation control in certain regions a problem if the overset were to move near them.

Hope this helps.

Ollie.
