Hi everyone,

I cannot figure out how the 'align vertices' tool works. ( found under blocking=>move vertices => align vertices)

I have attached a picture to use as an example. the picture shows two views of the same thing.

i want to move the 'blue vertices' so that they lie on the plane formed by the 'black edges'.

is this the type of situation that this tool is for? If not.. what tool do i use? and what situation does the align vertices tool apply to?

thanks

Hi JumpMonkey,

i haven't fully figured out myself how to use 'Align Vertices', too. Though, i know this tool moves vertices within a given plane. So, only XY, XZ, ... or given plane. If your geometry is distorted in the 3d space, then it seems tricky to use this tool.

In your case i would suggest to use 'Align Vertices in-line'. With this tool the reference vertices represent a straight line where selected vertices are to be moved to.

Select the two boundary vertices ('black') of the same block cut as reference vertices. Then select the internal vertices ('blue') of the same block cut. Repeat this for all cuts.

With regards,
Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,
Thank you for replying! The align vertices in-line tool worked well
