How to increase performance and reduce meshing time?

Hello everyone, I'm new in CFD analysis, so I'm wondering is there any way to increase performance for meshing since I've got Intel i7 6th generation processor with 16 GB RAM and GTX1060 with 1280 cores and it takes about an hour to generate 0.035m mesh in a very simple geometry given below (100.48m, 35m):
https://www.radikal.kz/images/2017/1...5_21-27-41.png Also, I've written that in Workbench panel, we can go to tools>options>solution process, then make exectuion mode as parallel and type the number of your cpu cores. And after we go to "Mechanical APDL, fix # of processors & GPU accelerator and # of cores". In addition, that we're able to go 'Meshing>Tools>Options>Meshin then adjust the number of CPU cores for meshing methods and parallel part meshing. I did all these steps, but none of them made even a little difference. It still take about an hour or is it okay? |

Slice up your model (then "create part" so the sections share nodes) and define the mesh parameters manually. Use number of divisions for lines if they are different lengths but you need a swept mesh. Looks like you are having the mesher have to figure everything out on its own, and using hex dominant method? This can take some time, and uses a lot of memory.
If you specify all mesh parameters, there is no thinking for the computer to do, and it is better general CFD practice as well for getting higher quality meshes. My mesh of your geometry honestly took less than 1 second to generate.... |
