Hello,

I'm trying to mesh an airfoli in ICEM (2D, quads) and faced a problem with converting smoothed mesh to output mesh.

The problem is that the output mesh is the same as the pre-mesh before smoothing (take a look at the pictures). When I convert pre-mesh to multiblock mesh everyhing is ok but then if I i want to write input files to fluent the problem appears. The same situation is when I'm trying to smooth multiblock mesh and then export it fluent.

Could you tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Output mesh -> https://ibb.co/jDpmHG
Smoothed mesh -> https://ibb.co/mWwoWb

Use Convert -> Unstructured Mesh
Not the multiblock mesh option

Thanks for your replay, converting to unstructured mesh works but I still don't understand why it's necessary to use this option while the mesh is based on quads not triangles?

Additionally I'm wondering if there is any option that let me set mesh cells in boundary layer around the airfoil perpendicularly to its curvature through some distance? Is there any better option than o-grid mesh around the airfoils divided into many blocks with mesh shaped manually?
