Is that possible to update an imported geometry

I am new to CFD. Here is the case, the original geometry is imported from Solideworks. Now I want to refine the mesh of a certain body region. So I create a body split in the original geometry file in Solideworks. And here is the problem, I can't update the geometry in Ansys, instead I need to replace the whole geometry. That means I need to start from the ground again. So is there a way to just update the geometry and keep all those existing features like name selections and all kinds of boundary conditions?

You can use named selections directly in solid works (or at least you can in Inventor and Creo) so when you update the geometry, the named selections remain the same. If you don't the surfaces get renumbered and everything gets mixed up. You need to name your surfaces with the proper prefix so ANSYS will recognize it. I believe the default prefix is "NS_".
