Default why there are some invisible edges in the icem? How can I see it?

I find a interesting thing? After I deleted some surface and edge for a face?why there are some invisible edges in the icem? How can I see it?

There are dormant parts. You can make them visible by selecting Show Dormant (use your RMB) in the Curve menu in the tree on the left hand side.
