Hello everyone,
I am pretty new to ANSYS and I faced a ploblem with using the Sweep command in Design Modeler. I have sketched a path (shown in the picture 1 below) and chose a circle as a profile. However the resulting solid is not symmetrical as expected and follows the path king of incorrectly (picture 2). I looked through tutorials and past posts but didn't find anyone facing this issue. Also changing dimensions of the profile and the path didn't help at all. Am i missing something? Thank yopu in advance for your help. |

The circle you are sweeping is behind the plane in which your path starts. The face you are sweeping needs to start at the beginning of your path. Your circle is lagging behind (or in front of) the path.
Think of it like your circle is like the back of a bus which is behind the rear wheels. When the bus turns and the wheels follow a nice arc, the back of the bus swings out to the opposite direction of the turn, and the straight parts are all offset. You want that circle to be right on the path. Draw a circle where your path begins and use that, not the offset circle from another location in the geometry. |
