Meshing a cylinder vs. skewness

This is not a new topic, but I haven't been able of finding a good answer that could help me with my problem.
I'm meshing a simple cylindrical geometry following the recommendations GAMBIT modelling guide (splitting edges and faces). I have done this and I got a mappable volume.
I get highly skewed cells at the 4 splitting edges, so I decided to mesh both circumference edges with a "bell shaped" grading. This way, the node concentration decreases near the 4 splitting nodes. By reducing the EquiSize Skew, the Aspect Ratio increases in the middle (concentration of nodes).
Now I don't know what is better. Maybe I'm just using the wrong approach. Anyone can help me with this?
