Hi All,
I have created a mesh within icem and exported it to a .cfx5 pre file but upon it tying to be read by cfx i get the following error, any clues as to whats wrong? Ans.Core.Commands.UserReadableFailure: Import Setup File failed. Source file does not appear to be a valid CFX Case file: C:\Users\JBritton\Desktop\Desktop\project2.cfx5 at Ans.CFX.CFXCore.Data.CFXSetupSource.ImportSetup(Co mmandContext context, String file) at Ans.CFX.CFXCore.Commands.ImportSetupCommand.Execut e(CommandContext context) at Ans.Core.Commands.Concurrency.CommandWorkUnit.exec uteInContext(CommandContext subContext, IExecutionEngineCallback tracer) at Ans.Core.Commands.Concurrency.BaseWorkUnit.doExecu te(IExecutionEngineCallback executionEngine, CommandContext subContext) at Ans.Core.Commands.Concurrency.BaseWorkUnit.Execute (IExecutionEngineCallback executionEngine, Boolean dontCatchExceptions) --- Ans.Core.Commands.CommandFailedException: Import Setup File failed. Source file does not appear to be a valid CFX Case file: C:\Users\JBritton\Desktop\Desktop\project2.cfx5 Command: CFX.ImportSetup(Container="Setup 1", FilePath="C:/Users/JBritton/Desktop/Desktop/project2.cfx5") at Ans.Core.Commands.CommandAsyncResult.Wait(Int32 milliSecondsTimeout, Boolean exitContext) at Ans.Core.Commands.CommandAsyncResult.Wait() at Ans.CFX.CFXCore.Commands.ImportSetupCommand.Invoke AndWait(ICommandContext context, DataContainerReference Container, String FilePath) at Ans.CFX.CFXCore.Commands.ImportSetupGui.Invoke(Gui OperationContext operationContext) at Ans.UI.UIManager.<>c__DisplayClass9.<InvokeOperati on>b__8() at Ans.UI.UIManager.InvokeOperationCore(String pseudoname, OperationDelegate callback, Boolean allowOSMessages) It says its not a valid case file, but I have set the solver to ansys cfx and also used binary within the options as well as ascii but it still fails, the odds are its an error ive made within the creation of the mesh but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

You are probably going into CFX-Pre and doing File -> Open.
The file ICEM CFD gives you is not actually a native CFX-Pre file. instead, go to File -> New, and then import the ICEM mesh. |
