jonny_b is on a distinguished road
I am attempting to mesh a pretty complex geometry of a gas turbine combustor. The mesh has been split into a total of 35 bodies, all being part of a multibody part (to ensure conformity along adjacent faces). I am incorporating a wide variety of mesh methods: Tetra, multizone, and sweep.

My current mesh has about 7 million elements but seems to take up a large amount of memory (about 12.5 gb). I can't be certain but in previous meshing efforts I remember being able to generate meshes with about 13 million elements in less memory than this 7 million element mesh.

Does anybody know if the memory usage I am seeing seems to be expected or does it seem high?

Also, does anybody know any good tricks for optimizing memory consumption while using ANSYS mesher.

Thanks,
Jonathan
