Dear All,
I made a 3d mesh of a pipe in ICEM and want to track some point values via "monitors" in Fluent. Now I created points in ICEM and put each of them into a "part" with a different name. Back in Fluent none of these points appear in any "surfaces" box. How can I get single points from ICEM to fluent? Thanks for any help! |

It's impossible to do that. Fluent won't read your points and curves. i tried before with a curve. i got help from Mr simon who forwarded my problem to a fluent expert.

I recently had to export a large set (100+) of geometry points from ICEM. A workaround that I found is to:
1) clear the log window 2)Use the point locator button (in the top toolbar) to select each point you want the coordinates for 3) the coordinates for each point show up in the log window as you click them. When you're done, save the log window to a file |

Another quick way is to put, points in a dummy part and save tin file. Open tin file in text editor, you will see lines like "prescribed_point x y z family dummy part name point number". Copy paste all points you want in excel and remove unwanted columns.
