Hi to everyone,
Iīm doing the geometry and mesh of a stratified water tank, and i reach a problem that i donīt know how to solve. uncovered faces. Important points that you should know. I used structured mesh on the right side of the uncovered faces ( I associated the edges to the curve between the unstructured mesh and the structured mesh). Then i converted it to unstructured mesh and I meshed the left side with unstructured m. To make the unstructured mesh I meshed at first all the lines, less the line in contact with the structured mesh, because itīs was already meshed. Then i meshed the surface with Patch dependent, (respect line elements and Protect given elements activated ) I think i could be a problem with the size of the cells, but itīs strange that it just appears in the corners... any idea about where this problem come from? and how to fix it? |

Yes, thatīs what i mean, when i check the mesh. it detects this problem: "uncovered faces" usually in the corners of the surfaces that I meshed.
Sometimes, if i remesh some curves and the surface the problem disappears. even if i just re-mesh the surface. Iīm trying to understand whatīs going on. I donīt know if itīs a problem of procedure, because I have a lot of surface that are meshed one after another. (At first, I mesh all the curves, then i mesh the surfaces) is it necessary to mesh the curves before to mesh the surface if i use patch dependent? or to set the number of nodes in each curve itīs enough? |

It is not a big problem to fix with covered face, just click on the fix button when prompting the error message. What you need to note is choosing the right part to locate the face. But I can not tell that why this happen, since such an error would always be detected and solved before finalizing the mesh.
Maybe Simon, or someone else, would expalin this from the root. |

Thx Rikio, I think that this problem has appeared due to I had meshed the curves before the surface. And the curve belongs to a different part (.geom)
I just avoid this problem if just mesh the surface, and let the loop of the patch dependent mesh the lines. |

Hi rikio,
The problem appears many times, it depends on the geometry. Perhaps there are some mistakes in my script. But itīs quite difficult to notice where. As u said, i could avoid/fix it so letīs go for the next pitfall! |
