Hey guys...i'm working on a turbine blade analysis with ANSYS...in which i'm going to first analyze the blade model in ANSYS fluent to get temperature distribution over the blade surface then i want to import the temperature from ansys fluent to ANSYS structural and apply rotational velocity to the blade to get the structural stresses on it...

I created a simple blade model in SolidWorks and analyzed it in Fluent...then i analyzed that model in structural by giving it a rotational velocity with x-axis as rotational axis...then I tried combining Fluent with structural...but after that the results in ansys stuctural showing wrong...

the thing is when i do structural analysis separately...the stress results are reasonable...but when i import the temperature in ANSYS structural i.e. combine the two analysis then the structural results come up wrong...

so can anybody please tell me how to combine ANSYS Fluent with ANSYS Structural?

hi Diwakar,

Do you use Workbench or transfer results by hand? Are the units correct (Kelvin, Celcius)?
Workbench usually transferes results automatically, and i think your problem could be solved using it.

Please take a look at above images and u will get a clear idea of what i'm doin...

i have applied rotational velocity to the whole blade along x-axis...

images show the structural stress results with structural analysis done separately and also stress results when i combined Fluent and Structural...in combined analysis i imported blade body temperature obtained from Fluent...the air domain which surrounds the blade is suppressed in structural analysis as it cannot be used there anyways...

but Combined analysis shows wrong structural stress results...and when i suppress the imported temperature the stress results are right...

Can anyone please resolve this problem???
