Hi everyone!

right now im making a model (static structural) using steel material,my model has a lot of bolts and i need to use the tool of pretension. The geometry that im using was drawn in autoCAD. the problem is that its too dificult to reach the convergence on the first step of pretension.

can you give me some tips or advices to solve my problem?.

im using frictionless contacts between the bolt, nut and the connecting parts,

Use frictional. Make sure the diameters between threaded components are identical. Make sure there is a clearance between the bolt and the component it is not threaded into so that ANSYS doesn't automatically generate a contact interface there. Only apply preload in first time step. Make sure your model is adequately constrained.
