Hello all,

I am trying to use the student version of ANSYS 17.2 on my personal computer, and every time I try to add a mesh to my geometry the mesh editor crashes and the following massages appear:

Error ! The Meshing editor does not have a valid license.
Warning Unable to initialize addins in Meshing. Either the application crashed or Workbench lost communication with it (No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:xxxxx).

My key specs. are :
Windows 10
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2601 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
16 GB RAM
NVIDIA GTX 960M

I have already tried the following:
Double checked the environmental variable pointing at the license file
Created a new environmental variable ANS_OLD_ATTACH = 1
Ran the "product and CAD configuration 17.2 .exe" and installed all required prerequisites
Uninstalling and reinstalling.
Installing a previous version (16.2).
Installing using elevated administrator account.
Disabled anti-virus, firewall.
Disabled IPv6.

Please help !!!

I have a similar problem. I use ANSYS 17.1 Acadmic at a computer on my campus. I didn' have this problem last week, but since this monday I can not start the meshing anymore and it gives me the error:
"Unable to Initialize application event handlers in Meshing. Either the application crashed or Workbench lost communication with it." and also the warning:
"Unable to initialize addins in Meshing. Either the application crashed or Workbench lost communication with it (Es konnte keine Verbindung hergestellt werden, da der Zielcomputer die Verbindung verweigerte 127.0.0.1:49247)."

I think it has something to do with the firewall but also when I disable it doesn't help... I also already uninstalled and reinstalled ANSYS, it didn't change anything.

Can anyone help? Thanks!!!!
