Hello,

may I ask if it is possible to simulate pulsing loads using transient thermal analysis? i.e. I have a laser beam that heats up my sample for 5 seconds, then it switches off for 10 seconds, then another pulse is emitted 5 seconds later.

If its possible, will anybody guide me on how to do it please? thank you!

In cfx that is not so difficult. Want to try this?

Right now I am using transient thermal analysis, and under heat flow I changed the setting to "tabular data", and for t=1 to t=5, I have inserted a 18W load, then t=5 to t=15 , I changed the 18W to 0W and from t=15 to t=20 I changed the load back to 18W.

Do you know if I am doing it right??

I have no idea. For two reasons:

1) I don't know your problem so how can I tell if you do it correct

2) What software do you use?
