Hello everyone,
I am simulating two-body interaction with fenders in between. There is no problem when I perform it in hydrodynamic diffraction. But in hydrodynamic response, I faced many problems for example the error in the floating fender, negative generalized damping, and the structure have moved significantly far from the origin,... the errors are shown in the below link https://imgur.com/a/pQ8NN7e I hope to receive help from expert. Thank you so much in advance. |

Hi,
The diffraction analysis indeed does not include mooring lines, fenders etc, so any errors caused by these will not appear in the diffraction analysis. I do recommend you to check whether or not you have included the structures in the same interacting group. Do you mean to model a fender in between the structure that floats? If so, then why have you defined two fenders? If you mean to model two fenders fixed on the structures you should use fixed fenders, I think. |
