Hello everybody,
i'm quite new in the definition of user field function, I want to impose as initial condition a volume fraction equal 1 for all points of the domain with y<0. Can anyone help me??

Instead of writing a field function you can try to make a boundary with y<0. Let me know how you tried to write a field function.

Hi,

I assume that you have two phases: air and water.

Put this definition for water,
($$Position[1]<0)?1:0.
