STAR CCM+ Defining problem

Hi all,
I am currently a PHOENICS user and have just been introduced to STAR CCM+ (just started browsing through the manuals). My research requires the definition of inlet boundary layer profiles and other temperature dependent sources for ventilation studies. I have noticed that unlike INFORM in PHOENICS there is no problem defining environment to facilitate the input of user-created boundary conditions and that I need to import subroutines from a C or Fortran compiler. I don't have any experience in either of these languages. So my question is; do I need to purchase a compiler to define boundary conditions in STAR CCM+? Are they expensive? Thanks in advance I would much appreciate any advice tn |
