if I use the run star interactively command: C:\Programmi\CD-adapco\STAR-CD\bin\star.exe -notracker PNP: Initialized [2008-02-24-17:40:45] Automatic Sequential Automatic Parallel analyzer. PNP: Allocated "fisso,1" resource (1 process). PNP: Assigned "fisso,1" to STAR solver (1 process). PNP: Loading STAR solver dynamic shared object plug-ins. PNP: Spawning STAR process on single node.
then the error "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142) Click on OK to terminate the application." and the end line: PNP: Shutdown [2008-02-24-17:41:09] Execution aborted by request (SIGABRT) after 23 seconds (TOTAL ELAPSED TIME). |

To run on windows, always go through the Linux shell from Help menu (STAR-shell)
then run prostar or 'star -debug' report the problem to support from there. alternatively, it is a good idea to create a dual boot computer with Linux on it for CFD and Keep windows for blogging, do some excel on your mortgage or secretarial stuff. |

even if I type "star -debug" it doesn't work. It starts with all those words and sign but then comes out 0xc0000142 error. Prostar says "no post data read in from ccm file".

otherwise you can just check your problem setup, it may be because of large time step or some negative volume cells, have you gone through INFO file, there you may get some idea. and also try with different Differencing schemes available in analysis settings menu.

Well the tutorial or other projects work on laptop, but not on the other pc: I tried to disable antivirus, firewall but nothing worked. I think is a problem of DLL. Any suggestion? I can post the log by dependency walker if necessary.
