Hello all

Just as a disclaimer, I'm a complete noob at using ANSYS/CFX, so constructive criticism please!

For my project I'm modelling our supersonic wind tunnel. I received a bunch of ProE parts, which I trimmed, assembled, then saved as IGES files for importing.

I'm currently trying to do a test run to make sure the model works, but CFX-post is telling me that there are 5 isolated flow regions.

I think the problem has to do with the way I've set the inlet/outlet, and the mesh in that region, but I'm not sure what to do. If you could look at the screenshots I've uploaded and tell me if anything immediately stands out I will love you forever.

Many thanks
Max

Isolated regions just means that your individual volume meshes are not connected to each other.

You need to put domain interfaces between each of the mesh regions that connect to each other.

Some additional comments:

* Parasolid is a better format to get geometry into Designmodeller then IGES.
* Look at the Workbench tutorials on multi-body parts. This will show you some options for combining multiple bodies together.

Firstly, thank you both for replying, and apologies for not saying anything sooner.

I took all of your advice on board and, after redoing my model, it works!

I have another issue now but I think I'll make a new post about it.
