Hi,
I want to calculate the resistance of DTMB-5415 Combatant Hull. I have created mesh in Gambit( l have attached a boundary layer to the hull). I want to use CFX for simulations. The mesh in CFX-pre shows a inside the domain which I have not created at all. I tried different mesh size to get rid of this problem but but all efforts went in vain. Now i don't know how to cater this problem? Please help me to solve this problem. Waiting for a kind response. Regards, |

What do you mean by "The mesh in CFX-pre shows a inside the domain which I have not created at all."
You will need a good inflation mesh on your vessel to get accurate drag numbers. |

Sorry, I made a typing error.
I Want to Say "The mesh in CFX-pre shows a 2D primitive region inside the domain which I have not created at all." Sorry once again |

These regions usually come about because somewhere in your meshing system it have triggered an edge detection threshold which then assumes it is a different boundary.
You should be able to combine both of these regions into one in CFX-Pre if you wish to continue, but you should fix the root cause of the problem if you want accurate answers. The root cause is your mesh is not fine enough to resolve the geometry in this region. Need a finer mesh in that region. |
