Hi everybody;

I am going to run cfx in parallel mode in HP MPI local machine. When I set number of partitions in cfx solver manager, there is no problem and parallel processing starts if my PC is connected to internet, but if it is not, calculation does not start and cfx stays in the state of "preparing run". I want to know how to run cfx in parallel on HP MPI local machine without any need for internet connection. The same problem was resolved by making a virtual network reported in this site, but I don't know how!

Any idea is appreciated.

Is it possible that it needs to connect to a license server through the Internet.

dear Chris;
Hi. I don't think it is related to checking license server via internet, I have read a solution to such a problem in current CFX forum which says : "making a virtual network", but I do not know how?

Sorry, never experienced anything like this before. I'm also not sure what is meant by making a virtual network in this case.

connect your computer to a router, the router doesn't have to be connected to internet. It is looking for an IP address which the router will assign. You could also try making a static IP address.

I've never tried either one of these, so it's just a guess.

The PC will assign its own IP address on the network card. No need for a router. So, as long as you have installed the license server on the PC it can run CFX without any network connection.
