hi
i am modeling a shell and tube heat exchanger with 42 cold tubes .
i have used one fluid domain for all the tubes and the cfx solver turns out to an error saying you have 42 isolated bodies!!. so do you think i should use 42 domains for every single tube ??!
am i right about the error?
i know there is something wrong about the interface but i don't know what exactly it is!
i made one named selection set for coils outside surfaces and one for shell internal surfaces where it is in contact with coils and then selected these two for fluid fluid interface sides. is there any thing wrong with this process?

regards

I think you will find you will get isolated fluid volume error regardless of whether you use 1 domain or 42 domains.

To get this to run you are going to have to use the isolated fluid volumes expert parameter. Search the forum to find the exact keyword.

Yup . I have turned off the isolated geometry check in expert parameters and problem solved.tnx glenn

You might have convergence problems with isolated volumes that is why the check is there! Your volumes look identical so you will probably be able to get away with it.
