Hello,

I am attempting to monitor the WSS components at a point on the wall during a transient simulation. I defined monitor points in the output control in CFX Pre as suggested in this forum. I chose the wall point based on the converged solution of a previous transient simulation using the same model geometry where I know the WSS is defined. However, I am unable to monitor the WSS component at the defined points in CFX solver. Each time I get the following message:

Monitor Point: WSSX

Domain: Default Domain
User specified location (x,y,z) : -1.289E-05, 2.130E-03, 7.450E-03
Assigned vertex location (x,y,z): -3.309E-06, 2.130E-03, 7.441E-03
Distance to specified location : 1.337E-05

Excluded variables from output variable list:
Wall Shear X

I don't understand why the Wall Shear X component is being excluded from the output variables list. I specifically selected the WSS components to be in the output variable list in order to monitor the points but for some reason the CFX solver is still unable to track the transient behavior.

Does anyone have a suggestion of how to fix this problem?

Im guessing this location is inside the domain and not on the wall.

I suspected that might be the problem so I went to CFX post and used the probe tool to make sure the WSS components were defined at my selected Cartesian coordinate. I tried a couple different points and got the same result.

hi guys many questions in 1
how should i get wss on wall based on time during the solution in fluent(report definition)?
can it be on wall surface?
or it should be only on a point or line?if line how can i create it on a stenosed wall to include stenosis too?
facet average/weighted or another options which one should i choose?
