Are extruded boundaries good practice for opening BCs as well?

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I'm aware that if you have an outlet it is usually good practice to place/extrude the outlet further downstream to prevent recirculation or inflow. I will be modeling a dynamic domain with several openings and was wondering whether there are any advantages to employing the same technique. Some of the openings are placed relatively close together and I'm worried they may interfere with each other. Does anyone have any comments on this?

The golden rule is you put boundary conditions at locations where you can describe the flow, then you select boundary conditions which match that description. If the outlets interfere with each other that either needs to be part of the boundary condition selection or you have to move the boundary to somewhere you can describe the flow.
