define a parameter in cfx pre and use it in design modeler

Hi
I defined an expression in cfx pre and then I create a monitor point for that expression under expr name. I went into design modeler and I create a parameter but now when I run my cfx my geometry doesn't change.

In fact the values of my monitor point is changing but my parameter in design modeler doesn't change at all.

Hi,

This parameter that you defined in designmodeler is some dimension I guess? Why do you expect it to change during your run, did you tell CFX in some way to change it? Could you give more details on your problem maybe.

There is a "Design of Experiments" tool in ansys, where you can run a set of design points where you geometry is automatically adjusted in a loop. Is this what you want to achieve?

This parameter in design modeler is dimensionless and the expression I created in cfx pre is dimensionless too.
I need to do something like this

I did something like this tutorial but my problem is that my parameter in design modeler doesn't change and so It doesn't create a new geometry and a new mesh file.

Ok, now I understand your problem better. However, I don't have any experience using a parameter for remeshing.

What I know is if you run a Design of Experiments a similar thing is done. You define some design parameter in DesignModeler which will be changed, the geometry is remeshed and CFX will run a new solution for that case. After such a run is finished you can open DesignModeler and your geometry still has the original parameters, however if you open the various result files of the cases in CFX Post you will see that your geometry did change during the runs.

Maybe this is also the case for you, since your monitor point shows that something changed. Try to open a result file in CFX Post to see if your geometry is actually changed. Let me know if this was helpful.
