Hi
Is CFX capable of modeling multi component multiphase cavitation? Phase 1=water liquid Phase 2=variable composition mixture of air ideal gas and water vapor On the fluid pair models tab I activate cavitation as mass transfer between phase 1 and 2, but there is no option to specify which component of phase 2 involves in cavitation with phase1. Of course the code itself cant find out water and water vapor have cavitation mass transfer!!! Also it should be noted that Fluent can do this job. Any help or idea would be appreciated. |

I am not sure on your specific question (matching the appropriate gaseous component to the liquid phase), you would have to look into that.
CFX is pretty flexible so hopefully you can do it. But a more important question is do you know the physics of cavitation of this multicomponent/multiphase fluid? I mean the cavitation model parameters - the default ones are tuned for pure water as the liquid phase and water vapour as the gaseous phase. If you do not have the cavitation model parameters you are just guessing. And if this is the case you can probably simplify the gas to water vapour only and then their is no problem. |
