Hello Sir,

In my office we are having one server machine (details given below) and eight CPUs connected to it (details given below). Currently ANSYS CFD (CFX and Fluent) is running on windows operating system in distributed mode and we have a sufficient license to parallel run. Now I am planning to replace windows operating system with Linux (Ubuntu) for the server as well as connected 8 CPUs. My question is whether I have to install Ubuntu server OS on server machine and Ubuntu desktop OS on connected nodes or same OS for server and connected nodes because finally I must able to run in distributed parallel by maximum utilizing my hardware.

Please suggest me if anything better than this….

Server Machine
32 core 2.00 GHz intel Xeon(R) X7550
60 GB RAM
1 TB Hard drive

Connected CPUs or nodes (Total 8)
Intel core 2 duo
8GB RAM
250 GB Hard drive
