Hi,
I want to simulate a separation device and some piping after an expansion valve. There would be spray, then droplets grow, then it becomes liquid/ gas http://docs.lib.purdue.edu/cgi/viewc...&context=iracc Developing Two-Phase R134a Flow after an Expansion Valve in an 8.7mm Tube If I use multiphase and give it a droplet size, this will be constant. So then there would be a high initial velocity and it takes some distance to separate. After 2m winally there is some liquid at the bottom of the pipe. The inlet would be a nozzle into a 3 in pipe. In reality there would be mist, soon droplets form and increase in size, after 0.5m there is liquid and gas which after about 1 m ist saparates and runs smooth. Maybe the easiest way out is, make the inlet over the entire pipe diameter, then its slower and settles within 0.5 m. And then focus on the gas seperator. |

the droplets at the nozzle would be split mm and would grow over distance. Eventually the mist would turn into liquid and gas. If I was to run a simulation with 0.1mm die droplets, they would stay at 0.1mm dia. So that behaviour would be different.
Can put in a picture later on |
