Can somebody explain me why when the water flows through the Francis turbine its pressure reduces ? What happens with the speed differential \frac{V^{2}_{2}-V^{2}_{1}}{\rho g} if we consider 1 as the inlet of the runner and 2 as the outlet of the runner. V_{1} is higher than V_{2} ...

Thank you for your help.

Pressure drops because it is a turbine. Turbomachinery working principle.
