hello
i have simulated a rectangular tank with roll oscillation. using cfx vof model ..means in the domain motion i have given angular velocity..

now for same tank in x axis i have to give oscillation motion like, going front and back in x direction (lateral excitaion) (x(t)=X0 sin (wt)). but in domain motion there is only rotation .. where can i give this motion in x axis the tank containing partially liquid it has to move like that equation.
can anyone tell where can i give motion in cfx. please and urgent
thank u

Are you doing this using rotating frames of reference or a moving mesh model?

I recommend you do this in moving mesh as you can easily put in arbitrary motions, and it also takes proper account of the accelerations. Rotating frames of reference models assumes constant rotational velocity, so acceleration terms are not accounted for.

And if your question is urgent then contact ANSYS support. That is what you pay them for. Nobody in this forum is being paid, so we will answer your question in our own good time.

Oh i got it. No urgency

Ill do it in moving mesh only,, thanks Glenn

Any initial parameters or theory i should know to do in moving mesh.

Have a look at the CFX tutorial examples. There are a few which use moving mesh. You can get them from the ANSYS customer website.
