i get this error in cfx pre when i start the solver but not when i save the definition file.
Value of 'Number of Passages in 360' in object '/TURBO POST DATA/TURBO POST COMPONENT:R1', '0', violates its lower bound, '1'. but the no of passages in the rotor is 12 and i passage is being modeled and i am using time transformation for the unsteady simulation.The solver exits with the following message +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ****** Warning ****** | | | | Topology simplification is activated with the following | | restrictions: | | | | - Mesh regions referenced only within User Fortran and NOT | | in the command file will cause the solver to stop. | | - The solver will stop during any "Edit Run in Progress" step | | if new 2D regions are referenced. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. | | Message: | | c_fpx_handler: Floating point exception: Divide by Zero | | | | | | | | | | | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. | | Message: | | Stopped in routine FPX: c_fpx_handler | | | | | | | | | | | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | An error has occurred in cfx5solve: | | | | The ANSYS CFX partitioner exited with return code 1. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ please suggest what i can try. |

have you double checked if
"Value of 'Number of Passages in 360' in object '/TURBO POST DATA/TURBO POST COMPONENT:R1', '0', violates its lower bound, '1'." If Pre reads it like '0' and not '12' then there's something wrong with the setup. Can you post your ccl? |

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to simulate centrifugal pump in CFX. I have this error set the topology estimation factor to be 1.2. I have already changed that to 1.2 , but still the error continues. I have checked my mesh quality which was good in terms of Aspect ratio, orthogonal quality, Skewness etc. My solver runs when I set the value to 2. Does this effect convergence or my results. Any leads would be appreciated! |

If it runs with 2 then just use that.
But this issue is a warning that CFX is having a hard time with something in your simulation. It could be a difficult interface, complex boundary patch or something like that - it is likely to be something in your mesh which is more complex than normal.

Hi ,
I am doing one condensation analysis over a cylindrical surface but when I have tried to run facing this error stated below continuously after lot of trials . Kindly suggest +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Topology Simplification | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ****** Warning ****** | | | | Topology simplification is activated with the following | | restrictions: | | | | - Mesh regions referenced only within User Fortran and NOT | | in the command file will cause the solver to stop. | | - The solver will stop during any "Edit Run in Progress" step | | if new 2D regions are referenced. | +------------------------------------------ |

Does your calculation stop, or not? Because you only show a warning, not an error.

Hi everyone. I had the same issue. It was due to meshing. I used turbomesh for meshing. I changed the mesh structure by adding a layer automatically and then i could run the analysis.
So I guess it is a matter of mesh quality. |
